Growing up in Beijing, I was surrounded by stunning architecture. The bold lines of OMA’s CCTV Tower and the flowing shapes of Zaha Hadid’s SOHO Galaxy captivated me and sparked my passion for design. Living in Hong Kong and attending the German Embassy School in Beijing provided me with a unique perspective on how architectural styles reflect cultural histories and identities. I learned that architecture transcends aesthetics; it meets societal needs and embraces new technologies. A building’s beauty is subjective, often shaped by deeper considerations.
My professional experiences have shaped me into the person I am today. Working in graphic design improved my visual communication skills. Then, I joined a construction firm, where I learned about BIM software and researched the latest 3D modelling software. I interned at an architecture firm focused on transport-oriented development, where I contributed to a façade design project and a master layout plan competition. The past internships not only reflect my broad field of interest but also helped me develop valuable skills in organization and effective communication, both essential for my studies and future career in architecture.
